From February 19 to April 19, Ayyam Gallery Dubai will proudly present Shabab Uprising, an exhibition featuring a selection of work by some of Syria’s most consummate young artists.

Ayyam Gallery, Dubai has gathered some of Syria's finest contemporary names from its formidable stable of artists for a group exhibition which will feature a vast variety of media. Some of the artists express themselves in shades of black and white, while others opt for colour. The show is an expression of both and will include paintings and photographs that cover different subjects, styles and techniques, all drawing on colour or monochrome. The six artists on show will be Khaled Takreti, Safwan Dahoul, Nassouh Zaghlouleh, Ammar Al-Beik, Asaad Arabi, and Youssef Abdelke. The exhibition is in essence six solo shows brought together by the theme of Black versus Colour.

Dream, a dominating title in all of Safwan Dahoul paintings since 20 years. Every painting he ever created is a dream that never ends. Dahoul's elegant portraits, clean lines and flowing figures echo cubist tendencies, but have a life and originality all of their own. Their dominating earth colors, reason being he wants to carry out his message in a simple way without having to resort to colors to convey emotion. He has a vision that painting the motion of the human body allows him to deliver his message more thoroughly than by using any other means. A prominent figure in the global art scene, he enjoys great popularity among international art collectors. Today, the most important museums and art collectors collect his paintings.

Ayyam Gallery opened its third location on Thursday, October 8th in the heart of Beirut Lebanon.

Ayyam Gallery opened its doors in Dubai on May 29th 2008. The opening night was well attended and there was a special electricity in the air. Most of Ayyam Gallery's artists were flown into Dubai for this special occasion.
