Asma Fayoumi

Ayyam Gallery is proud to hold a solo exhibition by the artist Asmaa Al-Fayoumee, a leading female artist in the Syrian art scene. Her first abstraction experience was in the sixties accompanied withother master Syrian artists, such as Naseer Chaura and Mahmoud Hammad.In 1966, she successfully achieved a solo exhibition that was mainlyhighlighted with abstraction. This exhibition was a surprise to art viewers and a real challenge in the Syrian art scene and at that time. During her long artistic career, blue color grades were very obvious in her works, then she moved into black and white period that included charcoal. But colors remain in her works; Asmaa always discovers new warm colors which add a romantic touch to her paintings.
