Sama Alshaibi will present a Visiting Artist's talk in the Department of Art and Art History at Spelman College in Atlanta, Georgia. The liberal arts college is a leading institution in the United States, and ranked number one among historically black colleges.
Alshaibi has been invited as a Visiting Artist from 4 – 6 April. On the evening of 5 April, she will present an image-based lecture titled ‘The Length of the Neck,’ which explores the intersections of migration in her work while underscoring the biographical details that continue to shape her artistic practice. The talk is part of a lecture series organised by the department.
