‘A Thread of Light Between my Mother’s Fingers and Heaven’, is an installation piece creating a connection between traditional and modern-day dining practices. Here, through Sadik Kwaish Alfraji’s special ability to explore and re-create childhood memories, perceptions and comforts, he visualizes and makes tangible recollections of his mother’s homemade bread, down to its taste, smell and touch. He captured universal familial experiences, such as the way shared food brings individuals together, even though the emotional impact is often bittersweet - like photos in an old family album.
