We are very pleased to announce Sadik Kwaish Alfraji as one of the finalists of the seventh Jameel Prize!
The Jameel Prize is the V&A’s award for contemporary art inspired by Islamic culture, society and ideas.
This edition is devoted to moving image and digital media.
Sadik Kwaish Alfraji’s animation titled A Thread of Light Between My Mother’s Fingers and Heaven, draws upon personal and collective memories as a means of story-telling.
The animation, amongst other finalists’ work will be shown at V&A South Kensington; in the upcoming exhibition, Jameel Prize: Moving Images.
The winner of the Prize will be announced on the 27th November 2024
