In a recent article by Rawaa Talass, Athar Jaber delves into his childhood  having been brought up abroad, and how that reflects into his work today. 

 

His exhibition Vestiges, at Ayyam Gallery is representational of that struggle, exteriorizing it  through the sculpture medium.  Following in his parents' footsetps, and becoming a creative himself, Athar Jaber managed to espress notions of identity and personal and collective trauma through his disfgured faces and contorsioned bodies, further highlighting how the Gulf War has affected his practice and views on the world.
